Overview
A brand new women’s magazine is starting up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina specializing in luxury lifestyles. We have an empty desk! Instead of guessing at who’s the best, we’ll let our readers decide. The intern who, after the 12 weeks are up, has the largest following and creates the most influential articles in the magazine will move on to a full-time writing career.
Responsibilities
Write, develop and produce stories across a range of sections. At least one real and publishable article must be put forth each week.
Contribute to the overall voice of the magazine.
Fact-checking fellow interns work.
Developing co-authored stories between interns.
Publishing articles to the magazine’s website.
Updating Twitter and Facebook multiple times daily.
Developing contacts and maintaining relationships with sources.
Gather coffee for all employees. Err, just kidding about the coffee.
Experience
Experience working with a team under tight deadlines.
Strong interests in things a women’s magazine would publish. This might include culture, literature, food & wine, family life, fashion, or entertainment.
Must be mature and self-motivated.

Education
In college, ideally pursuing a degree in English, communications, creative writing or journalism.
